Film Analysis
One of my favorite parts about watching a movie is going right online afterwards and looking up analysis articles. Reading what other people think about the film has significant value. You get to have insight as to how they viewed the film, perhaps similarly or different than you. Maybe you've missed out on some key plot points. Maybe the director meant something by using a particular camera angle. How does lighting comment to the scene? Why did the character do this and not that? Sharing ideas allows us to come up with conclusions we may have otherwise missed.
After watching The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, research was involved writing this film analysis. Such as understanding the concept of New Hollywood and how it ties into this movie and Gomery's personal plot review. The best film analysis is never written entirely alone, research has the ability to support or even change our input to provide impactful review.
